AN INTERVIEW WITH AUTHOR ANA CYBELA | AUTHOR INTERVIEW

Me: Did you always know that you would write a book someday?
Ana: Yes. I’ve always wanted to write a children’s book since I first found out I was going to be a mom.

Me: What inspired you to write this book?
Ana: I am a single mom of two little ones. I had gone through some challenging times during the pandemic. That being said, I want to create children’s books to help families navigate through life’s many changes and help children learn mindful tools to live a happier life. I want to touch on topics such as separation and divorce, blended families, and loss. I want to create a universe where every child can find her own star and learn that there’s enough light for everyone to shine.

Me: How did the cover of your book come to be? Is it exactly like you envisioned?
Ana: The cover is inspired by my Imprint, Kinetic Dandelions. It is designed to invoke an uplifting experience and invite readers to imagine the infinite possibilities of what a seed might become.

Me: Do you intend to keep writing?
Ana: Absolutely. I am a big fan of Stan Lee. I’m inspired by his representation of the underprivileged kids. I want to continue creating characters that are relatable to kids who found themselves in less-than-perfect life circumstances.

Me: What would you say is your most interesting writing quirk?
Ana: I listen to Alex French’s music when I write. It helps me get into the flow state.

Me: How many books have you written? Which is your favorite if more than one?
Ana: I’ve published a couple of titles. My first book is called “Tapping Your Way to a Great Big Smile!”. It is a book that teaches little children EFT Tapping, a mindful skill that helps reduce stress and anxiety and fosters emotional intelligence. “Susie and the Dandelions” is my favorite because it was inspired by my daughter, who is obsessed with dandelions.
