AN INTERVIEW WITH AUTHOR ELLIE AIDEN | AUTHOR INTERVIEW

Me: Did you always know that you would write a book someday?

Ellie: I’ve been writing since middle school, and started dozens of books over the years, but was never satisfied enough to finish. So yes, I knew I would write, but no, I didn’t know if I would ever make the jump to publishing.

Me: What inspired you to write this book?

Ellie: The Way Trilogy was inspired by the current pandemic, even though I had sort of started the idea before that. All of the writing though was done during the pandemic.

Me: How did the cover of your book come to be? Is it exactly like you envisioned?

Ellie: It is not what I originally envisioned. However, I love The Way Trilogy covers. I hate books that pander to their readers, i.e. we’ve all seen enough of shirtless men on the cover of books. So, I love that The Way Trilogy covers are literal pieces of art.

Me: Do you intend to keep writing?

Ellie: Absolutely!

Me: What would you say is your most interesting writing quirk?

Ellie: To get away from distractions, I’ll sneak to my car and write, even at three a.m.

Me: How many books have you written? Which is your favorite if more than one? If only 1 book then do you plan on writing more?

Ellie: So far I have seven finished books, with two others that are close. I don’t know that I could pick a favorite. I know some authors stick to specific genres, but that’s not me. I love reading all kinds of books, so when I write, I could never stick to one genre. The Way Trilogy is a post-pandemic, dystopian style genre, while The Okura Trilogy is a long the lines of humans evolving to have abilities (Super Powers) and the one I’m working on now is a Fantasy Reverse-Harem. So it would be hard to pick, but I will say, I have always wanted to write an RH, and A Fairy Awesome Series has been so fun to write.

Me: Was there any interesting tidbits you edited out of this book?”

Ellie: I left a lot on the editing floor, but in the end, nothing came out unless it shouldn’t have been there.
