AN INTERVIEW WITH AUTHOR NAKIA CROCKER | AUTHOR INTERVIEW

This week it is my pleasure to interview author Nakia Crocker.

Me: When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

Nakia: About 5 years ago but I didn’t actually start till Covid-19 hit and I had time to be at home to actually write my book.

Me: How long does it take you to write a book?

Nakia: This is my first book and it took me about 2 months to actually complete.

Me: What is your work schedule like when you’re writing?

Nakia: I normally would write in the middle of the night when my family is asleep. I am a family person so it is important to me that they come first. And at night is when they all would be sleep.

Me: Do you intend to keep writing?

Nakia: I definitely intend on continuing to write, I have already come up with the lay out for my next book.

Me: What would you say is your most interesting writing quirk?

Nakia: I would say the fact that I actually write my ending first then I go and start the rest of the book.

Me: Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?

Nakia: My ideas literally come off the top of my head. Even as a child I would play movies in my head that I made up to fall asleep and dream about.

Me: What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?

Nakia: I learned that I can accomplish anything that I put my mind too.

Me: Do you know your biological family?

Nakia: Yes I do, I was blessed enough to get to know them at the age of 15.

I was born and raised on the Westside of Detroit in September of 1977. I was adopted at 10 months old and was raised with a very loving family by Ezell and Fruitrella Crocker. I later had 2 children, Eric 19y.o. and Nakeya 16y.o.. I am now on my second marriage and will be hitting the 10-year mark in April 2021 to Jermaine Jones. I worked in plants for 21 years so becoming an author is a dream come true, I can now be my own boss. I was raised Christian and continue to live the life of one. I love entertaining people, along with authoring this book I also have been djing the past 12 years as a hobby. It would be a dream come true to be able to entertain people with my writing.
