Me: Did you always know that you would write a book someday?
Chatman: Yes. I always had a passion to write comics book, as a kid I was a huge Marvel, and DC comics fan.

Me: What inspired you to write this book?
Chatman: Mentoring children who have experienced domestic violence, school bullying, and peer pressure.

Me: How did the cover of your book come to be? Is it exactly like you envisioned?
Chatman: The cover of the book was inspired by the characters in the comic. And yes it is exactly like we envisioned, Key Design Studios did an amazing job on the illustrations.

Me: Do you intend to keep writing?
Chatman: Yes me, and my son Julius have already completed issue 2 of Karma Kid, which will be available soon in the following months to come.

Me: How many books have you written? Which is your favorite if more than one? If only 1 book then do you plan on writing more
Chatman: Thus far, we’ve completed and released “ Karma Kid Issue 1 The Power Of Positivity” on Kindle Books/Amazon. Karma Kid will have a sequel issue as well, which we’ve completed the writing stages now in the process of illustration production.

Mr. Joseph Chatman was born and raised in Waco, Texas, and currently resides in San Antonio, Texas. He is the president and founder of the 501-C3 nonprofit organization Motivated 4 Success, the CEO of Imperial Elite Music Group, and the CEO, owner, and author of Imperial Elite Comics and Publishing. His hobbies include writing stories, music, reading, and volunteering for the community.
As a kid, Joseph was bullied at school, and personally knows several young children facing peer pressure, school bullying, child abuse, and family domestic violence. Physical, emotional, or any type of bullying is a very serious issue, but children are always told to accept it as a part of growing up. Bullying, child abuse, and negative peer pressure can be devastating for a child’s self-esteem and confidence, and can even lead to suicidal attempts. Joseph fell in love with Comic Books at a very young age, and today, he is pursuing his dream of being a published Comic Book author/writer. Joseph also recently received an Associate degree in Child Development. Mr. Chatman will be attempting to address all forms of violence against children in his newly launched Comic Book Karma Kid, The Power Of Positivity, co-written with his son, Julius Chatman. Karma Kid is a story about an innocent, intelligent, teenaged boy named Demarco, who is the victim of bullying and peer pressure at school, and is going through domestic violence at home. The story of Demarco will unveil whether he will remain suppressed under such prevalent practices. Or will Demarco emerge as a confident child to rise above the chaos, and knock down the barricades standing in his way?
This book will set an example for children, parents and teachers not to remain silent, and to refuse to let innocent children grow up in brutal environments. Instead, step forward to eradicate such practices in schools and homes because they can badly affect the development and growth of a child. Children can never be successful in their later stages of life if they have gone through such traumatic conditions in their childhood.

A philanthropist by nature, Mr. Chatman loves helping children. His long-term goal is to build a youth center for underprivileged children, and publish more graphic novel comics and children’s books. Mr. Chatman, in his spare time, with the help of the wonderful board members from Motivated 4 Success, organizes toy drives, shoe drives, and field trips for homeless children.
